The DeKalb Baron Brigade dedicates tonight’s performance of Spellbound to the memory of Karen Long.
Karen was more than our Hospitality Chair—she was a Band Mom, a Band Grandma, and a steady, joyful presence behind the scenes. Her kindness, laughter, and tireless support shaped the spirit of this Invitational: she exemplified the heart of our band family.
Please join us in a moment of silence to honor Karen’s memory.
Karen, you are deeply loved. You will be missed—but never forgotten.

The DeKalb Baron Brigade is a 22-time ISSMA State Finalist, most recently appearing in 2024 for the first time since 2017. This year, the 122 member Baron Brigade will be appearing at events across Indiana and Ohio, including the Bands of America Regionals in Toledo and Indianapolis, the Auburn-Cord Duesenberg Parade of Classics, and the DeKalb Free-Fall Fair Parade.
